A Dog and His Pups -- Boomer's Story |

Within four months, Boomer earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen award (August 2004). We were very proud for him, and satisfied. Agility training with Boomer hadn't been our plan, but we realized his enthusiasm for playing with an agility see-saw and tunnel in our yard showed potential. Boomer knew it, too. In his first agility competition, Boomer won two first-place ribbons! He's made many friends at agility events - with his happy-go-lucky attitude and tail-wagging ways, it would be hard not to! But, more of a socialite than a dedicated worker, Boomer's best known for leaving the agility ring..... and not coming back! We've discovered that Boomer has a sub-luxating patella in a back leg, which makes jumping tough for our little guy. (That's another reason he probably left the ring on a number of occasions......) Occasionally he competes at trials, but mostly, he prefers chasing Kazee around the back yard and playing on our home agility equipment. An animal communicator we spoke with said that Boomer wants us to know he's three years older than we think. Okay, so now we know! Boomer's best days are spent with Vee
and with his "baby sister," Kazee. Kazee
adores him, and he knows it. Boomer isn't just "man's best friend," he's everyone's best friend, and that's the best success we can think of. :
