October 23, 1994 - January 26, 2003
From the day we got him, Billy and Jet were best of buddies. Billy's job as a truckdriver allowed him to take Jet to work with him every day. Together, they rode thousands of miles and shared as many experiences. Hiking in the woods was a favorite activity of ours. Our constant companion, Jet never ventured far from us as we hiked, and checked in frequently with us as we walked. Billy enjoyed working obedience drills with Jet, and often practice long-distance (long-time) down-stays with Jet on the football field at the local high school. While hiking in the woods with Jet and Vee on January 26, 2003, they were running - noses to the snow, tails to the wind, at "Jet" speed. Happy to be out in the cold, both dogs were enthusiastically sniffing and tracking. During our hike, Jet collapsed and died suddenly from a severe seizure. Our faithful companion for 8 years, Jet will never be gone. Someone told us that Jet's paws have turned into angel's wings. It's ironic, as Jet's "real" name was "Gabriel's Wings." Our thanks to Kate Kinanne, owner of Beauvoir Belgians in Waterbury, CT for breeding such a wonderful dog, and for allowing us to share our lives with him. : : next page : : |
