Visit Vee's Photo Gallery to see what she's been up to!
Once we saw her in September 2002, Vee, a stunning Belgian Shepherd imported from Brussels, never made it to the shelter where her US-buying owner intended to abandon her for euthanization.
In her first two years, she had been shuffled across an ocean, shipped from location to location in Virginia and the mid-Atlantic states, and confined nearly all her waking hours in crates and kennel facilities. Lacking appropriate socialization (and not even knowing she had a name!), this beautiful gal could have become bitter and socially depraved. But, she didn't, a testament to being the daughter of an international conformation champion and working lines.
Vee (her new name) found a new life with us, and a world of opportunities in all that she saw. Despite the challenges that makes it not always easy to be Vee, she retains a sweet disposition and is loved by many. She's a heartdog, and we owe our education about dog behavior, healthcare and agilty to this life-changing gal.
Vee is a fawn-sable Belgian Shepherd, standing 21.5" and weighing 45 pounds.
Before health concerns restricted her activities (Symmetrical Lupoid Onychodystropy, Hypothyroidism), she reached the upper levels of agility competition in the:
American Kennel Club - Regular Program (AKC)
North American Dog Agility Council - Proficient Program (NADAC)
United States Dog Agility Association - Performance Program (USDAA),
Canine Performance Events (CPE). and,
Certified Delta Society Therapy Dog as well.
Today, Vee's status as the "Queen Mother" is respected by all, and will endure for years to come.
